Genesis Regional Groups: Care and Connection during COVID-19

regional groups.png

We want to make sure everyone feels cared for and connected with during this disruptive season of our lives when we can’t worship together. To that end, we've launched Genesis Regional Groups as a way to check in on each other, connect online from time to time, and maybe even drop things off for each other when people can’t leave their house. They're arranged geographically and include 20-25 people (3-5 households). Each Regional Group has a point person who regularly checks in with folks to see how they’re doing and if they need anything.

What are Sundays like?

We meet at Elim Church Center (3978 W. Broadway in Robbinsdale) at 10:45am on Sunday mornings. We like to call ourselves warmly liturgical: we sing, pray, preach, and celebrate the Eucharist (communion) together every Sunday. The atmosphere is interactive and intimate. The music is understated and beautiful. The prayers are often call and response. We move forward out of our seats to receive the Eucharist (which we do every week). The sermon is conversational and thoughtful. People dress casually. Parking is easy and convenient. The whole thing lasts about an hour.
